What We Stand For
At CAL, we take great care to foster our community. Our community includes our staff, our students, our parents, our alumni, our neighbors, our well-wishers, relevant public sector agencies, and all the people and companies that support our values and vision.
We Are Providing an Environment for Our Students to Grow & Excel
Increasingly we live lives that allow for limited introduction or integration of new ideas and diversity. At
CAL, we understand that getting outside of our close-knit group and meeting new people is an essential
part of cultivating a self-fulfilled life.
Community allows us to support one another, interact, and share our experiences and our modern life
struggles. Having an open bond with others builds valuable relationships and gives us a deeper sense of
The sense of Community is palpable and pervasive at CAL – from the many events that we hold, from
our school trips through the neighborhood, from our team-building exercises for staff and students,
from the numerous clubs and activities that we offer, to the rallying around values consistent with our
Canadian and Libyan heritage.
Teaching the Professionals of tomorrow
CAL’s Kindergarten program establishes an excellent foundation for students to develop greater thoughtfulness and independence as they continue their journey towards becoming capable, lifelong learners.
The Elementary educational experience is anchored in the oversight of our two academic numeracy and literacy leaders. This is complemented by the work of expert specialist teachers in the core subjects of Language Arts, Mathematics, and Sciences, as well as Art, French, Music, Physical Education, Health, and Science and Technology.
Middle School offers a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The program is inclusive by design; students of all interests and academic abilities benefit from their participation.
We use a benchmark approach that enriches how the content is taught. The Middle School provides a balanced and broad range of subjects, and meaningful curriculum links are made among the subject areas.
Their flexible and self-directed curriculum can be taken by students 14 years of age and up, and is designed to prepare international students for top university and college placements.
A Message From
Welcome to the Canadian Academy of Libya, one of the pre-eminent co-ed K-12 elementary and secondary schools in Libya. CAL is much more than a place where your child goes to school, it is an active hub for learning and development.
As a school that spans from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, we witness, and influence, tremendous growth in our students, and we feel privileged to guide them through this journey. Our dedicated teachers construct creative and innovative programs so that every individual child’s needs, potential, interests, and talents are nurtured and developed.
It is likely that you have given a great deal of thought to the qualities you are looking for in a school. As you explore our website, you will get a glimpse into our school and our program offerings; however, the best way to learn about our unique and engaging environment is to experience it. I encourage you to visit us and see first-hand how CAL is much more than a school. It is a community where children and young adults thrive and where confidence, curiosity and passion ignite.
It is a great privilege and honour to be the Head of School at the Canadian Academy of Libya and I am delighted to share in this warm and supportive community with our students, families, staff and alumnae. CAL is supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to discover and pursue their personal excellence through a rigorous academic program. Our deeply committed and dedicated faculty prepare students for a strong, inspired future as empowered young men and women.
