Where can I get some?

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be...

Where does it come from?

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more...

Why do we use it?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not...

About Us

CAL’s Kindergarten program establishes an excellent foundation for students to develop greater thoughtfulness and independence as they continue their journey towards becoming capable, lifelong learners.

Current educational research and experiences demonstrate that children this age possess an innate desire to learn and an extraordinary capacity to absorb information from their surroundings.

The Elementary educational experience is anchored in the oversight of our two  academic numeracy and literacy leaders. This is complemented by the work of expert specialist teachers in the core subjects of Language Arts, Mathematics, and Sciences, as well as Art, French, Music, Physical Education, Health, and Science and Technology.
Middle School offers a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The program is inclusive by design; students of all interests and academic abilities benefit from their participation.

We use a benchmark approach that enriches how the content is taught. The Middle School provides a balanced and broad range of subjects, and meaningful curriculum links are made among the subject areas.

Their flexible and self-directed curriculum can be taken by students 14 years of age and up, and is designed to prepare international students for top university and college placements.

Our faculty is a diverse and talented group with extensive international experience. The faculty culture is collegial with ideas that drive professional growth through both in-house and out-of-school experiences. Involved in all aspects of school life and qualified with professional certifications and graduate degrees, our teachers strike a balance between challenging our students to excel and providing them with individual support.

CAL’s faculty members are specialists in their fields, and each cares about the whole child, and works to foster self-reliance, personal responsibility and fundamental respect in every student. They consider teaching students to be their job, and developing students’ character to be their responsibility.

Our parents are a varied and interesting group whose dedication to the school has always been a driving force. Our continued growth has been possible because of the time, expertise and financial resources that our parents have poured into the school over the years. Our parents are a critical element that makes the Canadian Academy of Libya the leading educational environment it has become.

Our Mission & Vision

CAL’s educational philosophy is based on providing a blend of the best of Western and Libyan educational practice. We will at all times be sensitive to local values, traditions, and customs.
The Canadian Academy of Libya’s challenging, comprehensive and supportive learning environment encourages students to actively discover and develop their intellectual, social, emotional, moral, physical, and creative potential.
