About CAL

The Canadian Academy of Libya (CAL) is a private international school, based in Tripoli, Libya, with K-12 classes centered on the Ontario curriculum, since our founding in 2012, we have grown to become one of the leading international schools in the country, consistently recognized as such by the Ministry of Education. The Canadian Academy of Libya develops well-rounded students with a deep sense of personal integrity who have the moral character, love of learning, and self-confidence to realize their full-potential.

CAL is the first school in Libya to introduce the Canadian curriculum and implement the Canadian educational system.

This inclusive approach yields exceptional academic results: Canada consistently outranks the US, the UK, and major European nations in the key subject areas of Mathematics, Science, and Reading, according to the latest Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) rankings.

Education System

Canadian education systems very effectively integrate learners from various backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities and with differing learning abilities and needs, skillsets, capabilities and aptitudes. Canada consistently ranks higher in key subject areas Math, Science and Reading. Latest PISA ranking place Canada ahead of US, UK and European countries in 3 key subject areas (English, Science and Math). In particular, Canadian educational systems very effectively integrate learners from various backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities and with differing learning abilities and needs, skillsets, capabilities and aptitudes.

mission

CAL is a community of lifelong learners. CAL provides each student with the opportunity to achieve his/her personal best within an International education environment. The school prepares students to succeed in English-speaking schools, colleges, and eventually universities. Our students will acquire the skills and attitude necessary to be intellectually reflective, lead a lifetime of meaningful work, be caring and ethical citizens, and be physically and mentally healthy. Our educational philosophy is based on providing a blend of the best Western and Libyan educational practices. We will at all times be sensitive to local values, traditions, and customs.
